Home to major metropolises such as Beijing, Hong Kong, Seoul, Shanghai, and Tokyo, most of East Asia features a strong, prosperous economy. Despite its enormous cities, the region also features lush and beautiful landscapes, such as the impressive mountain ranges of Japan and the vast scenery of China. Due to the country’s massive, China has the most varied vegetation of any country in the world.
Together, Japan, South Korea, and China are the main trendsetters in both East Asia and Southeast Asia. Japanese and Korean pop culture – from manga comics to pop music – has become a popular mainstay in many Asian countries, and the rich culture and traditions of China still heavily influence most of the nations which have a shared past with the ancient Chinese dynasties.
