About Tim
Years ago, Tim was found in a thrift shop by his human mom and her then-eight-year-old son (now an adult). They brought Tim home and set him on a shelf, but somehow he ended up in a drawer, where he lived for over a decade, mostly forgotten. Recently, Tim was rediscovered when his human mom needed an emotional support animal she could take with her to help with her autistic anxiety while shopping. Her favorite Squishmallows were all too big… but Tim was perfect. So she designed a special little pocket to attach to her purse so Tim could go everywhere she goes while keeping him protected and safe. Tim’s courage and patience waiting all those years to be remembered strengthens his human mom when things get difficult, which is most of the time when you have autism. The world is so utterly overwhelming – lights, sounds, smells, people, commotion – but Tim remains steady and calm. His soft little smile and twinkly eyes always brighten his human mom’s day, and his bravery is so inspiring, she decided to create an Instagram account to share Tim’s happiness and smiles with others. Because he is, without a doubt, Tim the Ever Faithful.
Travel with Tim
Tim is so happy to be living in the most beautiful state of Colorado. He loves the mountains and all their gorgeous colors, especially when the leaves turn – which can be seen in the higher altitude. Fall leaves are his favorite. Tim thinks he probably went places with the child he belonged to before he came to live with his current human family, but those memories are dim. What really matters is now, and Tim enjoys going anywhere with his human mom (much more interesting than being in a drawer!). Everything is fascinating and new! But Tim is also happy being at home, especially since travel and going out into the world are so difficult for his autistic human mom. Sometimes there’s nothing more fun than sitting with his best friend JT, the teal bigfoot Squishmallow, watching Sherlock Holmes with Jeremy Brett for the hundredth time. (No, seriously – autistics love rewatching shows again and again, and so does Tim.) Since his human mom feels safer going out with Tim tagging along, he’s looking forward to visiting magical places like Starbucks and city parks and scenic overlooks. And he is looking forward to seeing snow! Tim doesn’t remember ever seeing snow, so this year will be a year to remember. For lots of reasons. 🙂
