About Fluffy K.
Fluffy, the namesake of our very own Fluffy ‘The Bite-Sized Backpacker’ Nijdam, is far more than a plushie; he’s a vibrant character with his own universe, brought to life through the imagination of Kei and his partner, Robert. Found during Kei’s PhD years in the Netherlands, Fluffy has been an integral part of their lives for a decade. Now based in London, Kei, an Associate Professor of Psychology, has integrated Fluffy into both his academic and personal worlds, creating many stories, adventures, and creative projects.
In his everyday role, Fluffy is more than just a pillow dog. He communicates through Kei and Robert, sharing thoughts, ideas, and playful mischief, becoming a true member of their family. He has his own chair at dinner parties, enjoys birthday celebrations with friends, and even acts as a mascot for Kei’s students. But in Dreamworld, Fluffy truly comes alive. There, he has magic powers, can fly through starry skies, and is a courageous adventurer. Fluffy’s universe isn’t just a world of imagination; it’s a space for connection, self-expression, and joy. Now, Fluffy is inspiring new music, with the first song from his universe already available on Spotify.

Fluffy is a seasoned traveler who has explored over 20 countries across Europe, Asia, the Americas, and beyond. From the icy expanse of Norway’s Svalbard to volcanos in Iceland and the bustling cities of Asia, Fluffy has accompanied Kei to some of the world’s most incredible destinations. Whether traveling for academic conferences or family holidays, Fluffy always brings his unique sense of wonder and magic. Some of his favorite adventures include exploring Taiwan, Hong Kong, Shanghai – and soon Japan. He additionally supported a conference in Chile in South America.
In Europe, Fluffy is rooted in the Netherlands and likes to visit Germany, Belgium, France, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Ireland, and Scotland. Now based in London, he continues to inspire new journeys, dreaming of the mystical landscapes of the Scottish Highlands. His favorite destination of all is his own dog bed next to Kei’s bed; he loves to sit on the couch watching movies and eat pancakes (his favorite; there is even a song of Fluffy’s Pancakes on YouTube). His stories of adventure, both real and imagined, are a reminder that travel is about connection, creativity, and seeing the world through curious eyes.
