Pig plushie characteristics
Pig plushies often have stocky, round bodies with short necks and long, rounded snouts. Despite being considered quite dumb, they are actually rather intelligent, social plushies. Pig plushies don’t usually feature the small, beady eyes the animals they are modeled after have, but instead feature big, round eyes. What makes them instantly recognizable as pigs is their curly tail, large pointed ears, and of course their soft pink fur.

Another world-famous pig is Piglet, Winnie-the-Pooh’s little pink friend. Though Piglet had been around since 1926 in A. A. Milne’s Winnie-the-Pooh, Walt Disney didn’t feature the character until the second Pooh-film, Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day (1968). The character proved to be immensely popular and even took over the main role from Pooh in Piglet’s Big Movie (2003). Piglet’s cute, stocky body, his innocent look, and his floppy ears have made him very popular as a stuffed animal.
Other notable pigs who had plushies modeled after them are Porky Pig, who was the main star of the Looney Tunes (1930-1969) long before Bugs Bunny came in; Plopper (a.k.a. Spider-Pig), Homer Simpsons’ pet in The Simpsons Movie (2007); and Hamm, the wise-cracking piggy bank from Toy Story (1995).
