Unicorn plushie characteristics

Since they are mythological creatures, only a few characteristics of a unicorn plushie are set in stone: they are horse-like animals, with a long horn. Many of the other characteristics of unicorns are up to interpretation. While most unicorns are white, in the world of plushies, they can be any color. Some unicorns resemble goats instead of horses, and others are modeled after entirely different animals, such as pigs or cats. The only shared resemblance between these plushies and unicorn plushies is their horn.

Famous Unicorns (available as stuffed animals)

Unicorns have often been featured in popular media, from the musical animated feature Fantasia (1940) to the horror-comedy The Cabin in the Woods (2011). When it comes to unicorn stuffed animals, designers often prefer to use their own fantasy, rather than modeling their plushies after famous unicorns. Still, there are some famous unicorn characters who are available as plushies: notable examples are Buttercup, the classic white unicorn toy from Toy Story 3 (2010), and Agnes’ unicorn plush from Despicable Me (2010). Finally, there are the unicorn characters from the animated TV-series My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic (2010-2019), which features both unicorn and alicorn characters – alicorns having both a unicorn horn and Pegasus wings.

Unicorn plushies are often associated with rainbows, magic, and other elements related to fantasy. They are especially popular among girls and are often used as birthday gifts.
